Brightstone VC is a venture capital firm managing a $100 million fund focused on early-growth stage investment opportunities. Their primary areas of investment include sectors such as technology and life sciences, with a focus on innovations in areas like AI, machine learning, blockchain, cloud infrastructure, regenerative medicine, stem cell research, genomics, and personalized medicine.
CHALLENGE
The existing website for Brightstone VC had outdated design and functionality, failing to reflect the cutting-edge nature of their investments. Users found it difficult to navigate the site and quickly access relevant information about their portfolio and investment sectors. The goal was to create a modern, engaging site that would appeal to both tech-savvy entrepreneurs and potential investors, showcasing Brightstone's innovation-driven focus.

DISCOVERY
We conducted user research and competitive analysis to understand the needs of entrepreneurs and investors. The goal was to identify ways to improve navigation and create a site that better communicated the firm’s focus on advanced technologies and life sciences.
Initial Recommendation
During the discovery phase, I suggested using a WordPress theme to save on development costs while still delivering a modern, professional site. However, the client ultimately decided against this, preferring to invest in a fully custom-built site that could better accommodate their specific needs and vision.
